This was my first time at Eastside Chopsuey, I had the hot braised combination plate. The rice was true Saint Louis style Chinese food. I would go back.

Didn't know of this spot until a year ago. My employees ordered lunch from here and then my aunt recommended it also. Got a large order special fried rice (without shrimp) and daughter got one of the chicken specialty combo plates. She was torn between two and they allowed her to taste both! That's a plus in my book. Provided her a pager type device to alert when food was ready. It never did beep/blip/buzz. We saw customers going in and out that arrived after us. Our order had been ready for a couple of minutes. Large portions and tasty food reasonably priced. And was recommended by two different people as a go to spot for Chinese.

Amazing! Fried rice was dark how we like it in Chicago! Honestly this might've been better. The St. Paul sandwich was the star of the show and the fried rice was the cherry on top! Small shop but filled with friendly locals! Service was fast but we called ahead to pick up. A must try honestly

Food was good, had to wait around be there was no answer when I tried to call ahead. The service is like most of these type of food joints, very fast and short not overly nice, but efficient. Now ur on the east side... lotta street walkers and sketch mfs around but that's how you know the food is .

Mannnnn look I'm from St Louis and we have several great rice houses. We moved to Bellville in 2019. All the rice houses near me are trash! A coworker told me about this place and I ordered chicken wings, St Paul with cheese and special fried rice and it hit so hard and reminded me of home and some. We ordered 2 days later for our family and let me tell you their crab Rangoon a little skeet but the flavor... BOMB! I COULDNT even finish tasting all my food before writing this. Omg the duck fried rice FIRE! YEP we will be making that 22 min drive to pick up. I also love the diversity of the staff! They were NOT RUDE at all. The guy who took my order over the phone 12/17 at exactly 1pm (yeah we had our alarm set) when they opened was very pleasant. I'm DEFINITELY A FAN!

good service good food especially if you don't wast to cross that bridge my east of river spot

Best Chinese Food In Town! The rice is fluffy and not cooked hard. The seafood is fresh. The inside of the building is clean and protective are where you get your food on time and go! Folks is in an out all day which lets you know the food is good.

You can imagine how few places there are to order in lunch at work in the food desert that is East Saint Louis. We hadn't been to Eastside Chopsuey in a number of years so we tried it one day last week. I ordered my usual, half order of plain fried rice with extra white onion. The rice was a nice dark color but I thought it was a little greasy. I know it's usually greasy but I just felt like this one was more so. I'm sure we will be back although there is a rice house a little closer to us!
